Avon Seeks Tax Break for Skilled Tool Move
Skilled Tool and Die Co proposes moving from Cleveland to Avon with a 40 percent tax abatement. The family firm could create over 40 jobs, invest about 4 million dollars, and buy 24 acres on Jaycox Road for a 60 000 to 70 000 square foot plant, officials said. State officials recommended the credit based on job creation. The firm employs over 150 workers and produces metal stamping parts. Avon officials have discussed the plant for more than a year as expansion options at the Cleveland site exhaust.
