Bail set at 100000 with preliminary hearing scheduled for October. FBI says he was under surveillance after naval service in London and involved with Russian mission members observed near his car.
In dense fog twenty miles south of the Golden Gate two ships collide. The American tanker Titan and Colombian freighter Rio Magdalena suffered damage as the Titan headed toward port and the Rio Magdalena sent out SOS. Coast Guard reported medical needs aboard Rio Magdalena and uncertainty about casualties.
