Christine Blasey Ford told the Senate Judiciary Committee she is certain she was sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh decades ago. Kavanaugh testified he is 100 percent certain he did not assault her as the panel prepares a recommendation vote and a possible Senate confirmation next week.

Woman Killed and Man Severely Injured in Route 301 Crash
A 68 year old Elyria woman Nanette Phan died at the scene after a motorcycle crash on Route 301 south of Whitney Road. Her 68 year old husband Jeffrey Phan was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland in stable condition. The riders were on a 2015 Yamaha FJ A when they veered into a ditch. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected. Route 301 was closed at Whitney Road as investigators probed the incident.

Man charged in threats against Elyria High School
Javiaan Davis, 18, of Lorain, was arrested on three felony counts including inducing panic and making terroristic threats after a series of threatening calls to Elyria High School on September 14. He confessed to the crimes saying he acted out of anger at his girlfriend, a student.
