Rep Opposes Walleye Bag Limit Cut In Ohio
State Rep. Frank Mahnic Jr. urges the Ohio Wildlife Council to deny a proposed reduction of the walleye daily bag limit from six to five. The Division of Wildlife supports the change to align with Great Lakes quotas, despite Mahnic’s pledge to pursue fall legislation for a spring spawning closed season and a hatchery to boost stocks. The council plans action at the fall meeting in Columbus, while a walleye tournament in Lorain on Oct. 6 offers a $5,000 top prize.

Turkey shoots draw crowds at Ohio venues Sundays
The Berlin Heights American Legion Hall on Route 6t north hosts a weekly Sunday turkey shoot at 1 p.m. open to the public with prizes of hams turkeys bacon and cash. The Lodi Gun Club runs Sunday shoots in October and November from 1 to 4 p.m. at Franchester Road two miles south of Lodi with 12 shooters per round and a turkey ham or bacon prize for the closest BB to the X.
