Vermilion hosts the 38th Woollybear Festival where forecaster Bill Summers says January through March will bring record cold. More than 100000 spectators enjoyed the parade and festivities as Fox 8 meteorologist Dick Goddard notes snowfall near average. Local families attended, including Army sergeant Christopher Purdy and his children Kailyn and Bryan.
