Cleveland group may have answer to teen pregnancy
A Near West Side coalition named the West Side Adolescent Services Network coordinates health, human service, youth, and religious groups to address teen pregnancy with pluralism. Funded by a $75,000 Gund Foundation grant, the network aims to combine contraception access with chastity values while avoiding church or parent opposition.

Skyjacker Subdued After Alitalia Landing In Sicily
A Soviet emigrant armed with a knife hijacked an Alitalia Boeing 727 carrying 108 aboard from Algiers to Rome. The plane landed in Catania Sicily where the hijacker was overpowered after most passengers and five crew members exited. No injuries were reported. Police identified the suspect as Igor Shkuro, 37, of Leningrad living in Rome. He held several passports and unclear motives. In Lorain, a thief raided a vacant house, taking a vanity sink, stove, freezer, and carpet, causing about 1800 dollars in damage.

Boy 8 Dies In Car Train Crash Near Route 18
An 8 year old Lakewood boy, Jason M. Taylor, died when the car he rode in struck a Norfolk and Western freight train at a crossing south of Route 18 in Litchfield Township. The vehicle, driven by Joann Bennett, rolled and several passengers, including Bennett and another rider, were treated for minor injuries. Patrol officials continued investigation with details pending.
