Sept 26 Berlin reports Germany weathered the crisis from Chancellor Stresemann’s surrender to France. Bavaria’s Prime Minister Fal ting supported abandoning passive resistance, while Munich reports discontent and Bavarian fascist threats. The nation vows no oil or soil concessions and continues to pull Ruhr support.

Greece Blamed in Italian Deaths Fueled by Ambassadors

Paris dispatch reports the council of ambassadors ruled Greece partly responsible for the assassination of General Tellini and four companions on Greek soil. Italy gains fifty million lire in damages and Corfu to be evacuated, avoiding broader war risk. England and France backed Italy’s call for more decisive action. The commission’s findings and the formal communiqué were to be issued soon.

Police Order Hinkson To Remove Mayor Banner

Harry Hinkson, candidate for mayor, had a banner read Vote for Harry Hinkson for Mayor and Live Within Your Means removed by Police Chief E J Stankard as an ordinance prohibits posting signs on street poles. The 1914 ordinance fines violators up to 100 dollars and bans political banners on public poles in streets parks and alleys. Hinkson planned to place the sign on private property instead.

Rotary Club honors Rev J H Grant with gold watch

At the Country Club dinner the Rotary Club presented Rev J H Grant with a gold watch and chain. C E Lozier delivered the speech and handed a miniature pulpit gift. Grant thanked the club for many happy meetings and regret leaving the group.

State Phone Men Meet Here Friday

The second district and business conference of the Ohio Independent Telephone Association will be held in Elyria city on Friday September 28. Host Elyria Telephone Co. invites all independent companies to attend to discuss problems and plans with officers and directors present. The meeting promises practical programs and money saving reports, with emphasis on cooperation among neighboring companies. President Frank A. Knapp endorses the event as highly profitable for independent telephone men.

Arrest Day Raiders on Disorderly Charge in Cincinnati

Edward Martin known as Red Martin and four other men forming a raiding party were arrested on disorderly conduct charges after raiding six residences on Geat Street near the C and O Railroad and Mill Rock in search of liquor. The party fired revolver shots and damaged property. only a drop of liquor was found. Martin used the alias Edward Mitchell when registering at police headquarters.

Vass Fined Twice for Illegal Liquor Possession

George Vase of 2174 E 28th Street Lorain was fined 500 dollars and costs by Judge Webber for illegal possession of liquor. This marked a second offense after a prior 200 dollar fine and costs in Lorain on the same charge. Prosecution was by prohibition officer Frank Klady.

Ridiker Not Arrested in Raid Error Corrected

The paper corrects a prior item naming Frank Ridiker of Brunswick as fined for possessing a 60 gallon still. Ridiker had sold the farm years ago and was not residing there when the raid occurred, making the earlier report inaccurate.

Oklahoma House Dispersed After Martial Law Call

In Oklahoma City the House failed to assemble under Governor Walton as martial law ordered dispersal. Colonel Key read the order labeling the meeting an unlawful gathering, forcing lawmakers to exit the capitol and defer to hotel headquarters to plan petitions against Walton.
