Mistral's Daughter miniseries traps with sleaze and ham
TV critic Mark Dawidziak reviews Judith Krantz adaptation Mistral's Daughter as visually stunning but functionally weak. Cast includes Stacy Keach and Stefanie Powers. Jan Richardson and Lee Remick deliver the strongest performances, while accents and dialogue fall flat. The eight hour CBS miniseries is praised for visuals but condemned for blatant melodrama and clumsy exchanges.
