Davidson's Hollywood gambit drives plot in new story chapter
In Chapter XIV of the Davidson tale, producer Davidson plots to place Irene Carrell in a strategic position while dodging studio tensions. Irene advances by flattering the boss and seeking control, as Davidson contemplates a surprising move after breakfast. The scene also shows studio friction over Jane Dare and hints at future conflicts both on set and off.
