Faces more charges Racist sniper sentenced to life
Joseph Paul Franklin, an avowed racist linked to sniper slayings of two Black youths, received concurrent life terms in Utah federal court and now faces additional murder charges in two states. An all white Salt Lake City jury could not reach a unanimous death penalty verdict, as Franklin staged a failed escape during deliberations. sentencing was set for Sept 28.
