Century‑old Avon Lake house sparks debate and plans
The 100-year-old Civil War era house in Veteran’s Memorial Park sits vacant as city leaders weigh options. Mayor Berner favors demolition for better lake views and utility, while preservationists push for reuse as a museum or other civic function. A one-year pause to hear ideas was approved, with local groups opposing tearing it down. Separate notes mention sidewalk planning and an upcoming trip to see The Producers, reflecting broader community discussions.
