Ohio family sails junk to Paris a Mediterranean dream
Ohio couple Ray and Barbara Evans with their children Todd and Lisa sailed a 55 foot Thai carved junk called Samar from Thailand to Singapore Ceylon Hamburg and Paris to view Notre Dame and the Seine. The voyage included pets and crew changes with a Polish freighter ride costing $10 000 and an eventual plan to cruise the Mediterranean.
