Great Britain and France end Spain patrol and vow firm action
Boake Carter discusses Britain and France abandoning the nonintervention patrol off Spain and warning that any pirate warship or plane attacking merchant ships will be resisted. He analyzes how postwar treaties and imperial aims shaped world peace, arguing Britain and France act to preserve their interests rather than universal peace. He critiques Western responses to Mussolini and Hitler and questions motives behind calls to “fight Fascism.”
