Gerut's case dominates AL Rookie of the Year chatter
Jody Gerut argues for AL Rookie of the Year honors as the Indians face strong contenders like Rocco Baldelli and Hideki Matsui. The 96 year old outfielder leads in homers RBIs and runs among first-year players, while Baez struggles with a 2-9 record and 3.86 ERA. Baez may exercise a $5 million option reduced to $4.2 million due to arbitration ineligibility. Jacobs Field attendance ends at 1,730,001, a franchise mark.
