Carter watched from home as the two men clashed and praised pay and benefits to boost manpower.

Train wreck kills two Amherst youths near Oberlin Road
Two Amherst Marion L. Steele High School juniors died when their car collided with an Amtrak train at a crossing on Oberlin Road near Route 113. A third teen survived with serious injuries as the train, traveling 70 mph, sheared the car in two after the stop sign was reportedly ignored.
