Council Stands Put On Septic Tank Installations
The Cleveland council refused to lift its ban on new septic tanks unless the city health department approves. Inspector Hart Dickason warned tanks must be properly supervised and some areas have unsuitable soil. Costs run about 300 dollars per installation, and builders argue for merit-based reviews. Mayor Ault cited planning guidance stressing sanitation in growth control. Councilwoman Kennedy noted the regulation originated with the health board.
