Stolen car chase ends with deputy struck in Eaton Township
A deputy was struck by a fleeing vehicle during a morning pursuit of a stolen car near Island Road in Eaton Township. Benjamin Tripphahn, 30, faces charges of domestic violence resisting arrest criminal trespassing and receiving stolen property after the incident began around 5 30 a m and another driver fled. Deputy Adam Triffiletti received treatment at St Johns Westshore Hospital and was later released.

One dead in Elyria shooting at Wesley Avenue apartments
A homicide reported at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley Avenue apartments left a 25 year old resident dead. Police spokesman Capt. Chris Costantino said the victim would be identified after family notification and motive or suspect details were not yet determined. A thorough investigation is ongoing.
