The Cleveland Indians ship pitcher Bud Black to Toronto in exchange for pitcher Maurs Gozze and two players to be named later. Indians president Hank Peters says they like all the players they will receive.
Ohio State Highway Patrol will begin enforcing the 55 mph limit along Interstate 480 from Route 10 in North Olmsted to near Streetsboro in Portage County. The plan, funded by a federal grant, involves patrol posts to handle the new duties as officials from 16 communities meet to finalize enforcement details.
Lorain County commissioners asked Gov. Celeste to declare the area a disaster due to two weeks of flooding.
