Violence fuels NBC Hunter while Jessie avoids it in tone
New York NBCs Hunter and ABCs Jessie debut tonight with starkly different approaches. Hunter stars Fred Dryer and Stephanie Kramer as detectives bending rules in a hard edged, action driven series. Jessie leans lighter, focusing on humor and character while avoiding excessive brutality. The Cannell produced Hunter mixes sharp dialogue with brutal action, signaling frontier justice over courtroom niceties.

TV Police Dramas Hunter Jessie Face Network Edits
TV critic reviews two police shows Hunter and Jessie. Hunter features a lone moral cop similar to Dirty Harry with a strong partner played by Miss Kramer, while Jessie follows a Tucson psychiatrist turned investigator now set in California.
