Army Corps orders study on Missouri floods handling
The U S Army Corps of Engineers commissions a four person panel to review its management of the Missouri River floods amid criticism from downstream states. The panel includes a hydrologist from the NWS USGS and NRCS and a retired Colorado State professor and should finish by December. Estimated study cost about sixty thousand dollars. Large areas of northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa stay underwater as levee breaks threaten farmland and roads.
