Indians Fall To Royals Ending AL Record 22-Game Win Streak

Ford Ohio plant layoffs extend through year end

Temporary layoffs at Ford Motor Co Ohio Assembly Plant have been extended through year end. About 140 workers on the line and in material handling were affected. Union leader Herb Bennett said pay and benefits continue at 85 percent and that the layoff likely extends into the first quarter of next year due to low demand for medium-duty trucks.

Oberlin Council weighs expanding LGBTQ protections

Oberlin City Council considers amendments to broaden anti discrimination rules to cover sexual orientation and gender identity in the Equal Opportunity Employment Program and housing laws. The move follows recommendations from the Human Relations Commission and Equality Ohio. Existing protections cover race religion color sex national origin handicap and ancestry.

Nurse testifies Simko hinted she shot husband

Mercy Regional Medical Center nurse Laura Ramsey testified she believed Julene Simko admitted killing her husband during an exchange in the emergency room the day Jeremy Simko was found fatally shot. Ramsey described Simko with dried blood on her hands and face and said she heard two possible statements.
