Watergate mail deluge swamps Senate committee letters
The Watergate Select Committee is swamped with mail, counting mail bags after stopping at 87,137 letters and receiving about 6,000 a day. Sen. Baker and Sen. Weicker tally tens of thousands of letters while messages praise, attack, and suggest questions, with over 200,000 total letters, including notes from diverse groups and individuals across the nation.
