Recommendations To Improve Ohio Prison System
The penal study committee of the state postwar program commission renews recommendations to modernize Ohio prisons. Proposals include a wallless reformatory for 1,500 adults, modernization of the Ohio Penitentiary, two new specialized units at Lima Hospital for psychotic and perverted offenders, and a new reformatorio for improvable adults. Also calls for better classifications, female institutions modernization, qualified directors, and clearer jurisdiction over probation and parole.

Tenants Eviction Grounds Under 1948 Housing Act Explained
J H Simpson of the Lorain Elyria Area outlines eviction grounds under the 1948 Housing and Rent Act. Two groups exist. one allows simple notice for non-payment or non dwelling use, the other requires at least 60 days notice for seven grounds including owner occupation, sale, substantial alteration, withdrawal from rental, public improvement acquisitions, non profit housing staff housing, and cooperative stockholder occupancy. He cautions against using grounds as pretext and notes courts decide eviction cases while his office can seek injunctions.
