No Age Limit For Admission To State Hospital

State Welfare Director Charles Sherwood said earlier that state superintendents may not refuse admission to patients based on age. County officials questioned Toledo state hospital policy of not admitting patients over 70 despite crowded conditions at times. Aged inmates were involved in exchanges where Toledo agreed to accept an 83 year old patient if another county patient was returned for care locally.

Four Named Elyria School Custodians Appointed

The Elyria City Board of Education approved four new school custodians for probationary six month terms. William McKileick will move to Gatford School, Charles Walkden shifts to Edison School, William Hubbard to Allen School, and James Bennett to the central plant. Each brings prior service and one has a fireman license for potential emergency duties.
