Vermilion school board rejects mask mandate 3-2 vote
Vermilion Schools will not require masks after a 3-2 board vote led by Superintendent Phil Pempin. Board members Krystal Russell and Shelly Innes voted yes while Sara Stepp Eric Johnstone and Chris Habermehl voted no. The decision drew applause from about two dozen parents in attendance.

Lorain County Public Health estimates 875 active COVID-19 cases this week, up from 814 a week ago, with 26 hospitalizations in the past week down from 35.
