Uproar at Lorain County Speedway delays 100 lap race
At Lorain County Speedway in South Amherst the 100 lap E mod Super Nationals halted after 50 laps when the asphalt peeled. Track owner Kevin Bonnema tried cooling measures as fans demanded refunds, police calmed a crowd of about 400. About 1,500 attended. many were refunded partially or fully while tickets could be redeemed Oct 9 for free admission.

Grafton officials expect to move village offices including the utilities and income tax clerks into a new Village Hall in the former FirstMerit Bank on Main Street by the holidays. The building, bought for 275000 in July, is 3787 square feet and replaces the current 1600-square-foot site.
