Erie County seeks 3 mills for one year on ballot

Erie County commissioners decided to place a proposal for a 3 mill levy for one year on the November 5 ballot. The tax would raise about 68 thousand dollars for 1963 payable in 1964 to support county expenses and building improvements including the Erie County Office Building and the former Children's Home on Sycamore Line. The levy requires a majority vote to pass and would cost three cents per hundred dollars of valuation on an assessed county property base of about 230 million dollars.
