Fire at Troxel Plant causes thousands in damages
Stubborn fire at Troxel Manufacturing on Washington Avenue early today caused extensive damage estimated in the thousands. The blaze started in the benzine spray room on the fifth floor from a spark from the exhaust fan. Seventeen sprinkler heads failed to halt the fire, water penetrated to the basement, and leather goods stock and office furniture were damaged. Firemen fought for nearly three hours. It was the second fire this week after a spontaneous roof fire at General Industries.
