Oberlin and Medina Meet in Southwestern Circuit Opener

Oberlin and Medina face each other Friday night in the Southwestern Conference opener with limited returnees. Oberlin relies on captain Dick Bartoto and end Clare Haulk to anchor defense while Medina counts on quarterback Bob Vashall and halfback Dean Brubaker to spark the offense. Both teams show questions on offense and uncertainty on defense after last season’s senior-heavy lines, with Medina perhaps slight favorite due to experienced linemen and backs.
