Culmer trial postponed after suicide attempt and hospital transfer
Sean Culmer, a former Oberlin College student charged with aggravated murder for the strangling of Grace Austin, has deferred his trial as he remains in fair condition after swallowing many sleeping pills. A psychiatrist letter prompted the judge to order observation in intensive care until at least Tuesday. If convicted, Culmer faces life in prison. His mental competency was restored July 1 and he will be returned to Hanna Pavilion for further treatment and evaluation after discharge.
