Farmer Mikloda charged with arson in Wakeman barns
Jacob Mikloda, 60, a farmer from south and east of Wakeman, is held in Huron county jail on a charge of setting fire to two large barns on his farm Friday night. He pleaded not guilty and was bound over to the grand jury under 10,000 dollars bond. Four calves and several hogs perished. the Wakeman fire department could not save the barns. A fox, chickens and ducks were saved.

Four Men Escape After Rioting Capture Of Marshal Coffin
Marshall Paul Coffin of Wellington was seized by four men who bound gagged and jailed him in his own cell after robbing him of $9 and two riot guns. They used Coffin’s car to flee, leaving his door ajar as deputies and nearby police pursued. Coffin freed himself with a prisoner’s aid and the jail was ransacked though only the two shotguns and shells were taken. The captors fled in Coffin’s automobile found later at Brewster Ohio.
