London Business Center Moves East to West in City
The article notes a long term westward shift of London’s business district from the east across the metropolis. It cites A. J. Burrows speaking in Torway Cornwall about how dense populations prevent new skyscraper solutions and how areas like Cavendish Square St James Square and Park Lane are increasingly occupied by offices and banks. The trend echoes centuries of gradual change from residential squares to commercial use in Bloomsbury Soho and surrounding districts.
