Fireboys film portrays incarcerated firefighters and fate of six
John Benson profiles the documentary Fireboys about California inmates who fight wildfires for low pay. Drew Dickler and Jake Hochenhower, Oberlin College graduates and StoryLens co founders, explore redemption, labor exploitation, and transformation through Pine Grove crews who battled 2018 fires and beyond. The film, available on Amazon and iTunes, argues big impact from prison labor and post release opportunities.

Malignant review finds twist salvages flawed horror film
The film directed by James Wan relies on loud jump scares and uneven dialogue. Annabelle Wallis stars as Madison whose visions link to a grim hospital past. A late twist opens the way to a more entertaining final act and cult potential, despite weak early hours.
