Cancer prevention ignored by U S says British crusader
Dr Denis Burkitt, a leading British advocate for cancer prevention, told reporters at the 13th Annual Cancer Congress that the United States spends only about 0.3 percent of health funds on prevention and could cut cancer by up to two thirds by lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, limiting meat, and embracing whole grains. He urged major education programs, especially for children, to teach preventive living.
