Court restrains state questions on liquor permit renewals
The Ohio Licensed Beverage Association won a temporary restraining order blocking liquor permit holders from answering renewal questionnaires sent by the Ohio Department of Liquor Control. The order, issued by Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Fred Shoemaker, delays a permanent ruling until November. Members of the Greater Lorain County Liquor Association joined in not returning the forms, which sought details on amusement machines at premises. The suit claims the questions infringe permittees rights and exceed state law or Liquor Control regulations.
