Sweda Loses Bid In War on Poverty Presidency Suit

Paul G. Sweda former North Ridgeville mayor lost the first legal battle in his bid to head Lorain County Economic Opportunity Committee Inc the agency running the War on Poverty program. Judge LeRoy F. Kelly sustained a demurrer dismissing Sweda’s injunction suit and said the case belongs in a quo warranto action in the Court of Appeals or Ohio Supreme Court. Trucker Injured In Riftley Road Jackknife Crash

A 51 year old truck driver, George Bloom, was hospitalized with chest and shoulder injuries after his tractor truck jackknifed on a rain slick Rt 10 west of Rt 301 in Wheeling. The rig slid 90 feet before leaving the road and plunging into a drainage ditch as deputies investigated the one vehicle accident.

Park district lays plan for Lake Carlisle Levy funds

Park board outlines Lake Carlisle development costs of 850000 with a 0.3 mill levy to be voted this November.
