Aircraft controversy reaches White House in cabinet talks
President Coolidge personally reviewed the aeronautics dispute with Secretary Wilbur and Acting Secretary Davis after lingering charges by Col William Mitchell of the army air service. An impartial survey of air defenses was discussed, with Davis proposing a public inquiry before Congress reconvenes. Wilbur reportedly favored limiting an investigation.
