Friendship Park opens as part of Vermilion revitalization plan
Vermilion Parks board member Jim Forthofer describes Friendship Park downtown as a passive space with an arts stage for concerts and plays. Groundbreaking was Aug 6 with completion planned later this month or early October, and a June dedication is planned. The park funds come largely from a Community Development Block Grant tied to a broader revitalization effort around the Ritter Library and Granny Joe's area.
