Local rider Jerry Acklin earns silver medals at Penn Ohio Morgan show
Grafton teen Jerry Acklin, age 14, grew up around Morgan horses and earned two American Morgan Horse Association silver medals at the Penn Ohio Morgan Horse show for hunter seat on the flat and western divisions. She’s qualified for the 2010 Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse show in Oklahoma City after July wins. Her parents Scott and Vikki support her riding on their family farm where eight horses live, including Turk the ex-racehorse. Jerry rides daily in an indoor arena and values the effort and arena success as the cherry on top.
