Boulder Wildfire Threat Shrinks Neighborhoods

A Colorado wildfire drives evacuations on Boulder’s west side as winds up to 60 mph push flames toward the city. About 170 homes are lost across the region, with ash covered foundations and a lone surviving tennis court on one lot. City crews mow open spaces to reduce fuel as residents remove items that could feed the blaze. Boulder, population around 100,000, houses CU Boulder and NIST facilities.
