Demetrio Vasil 95 dies in Elyria after long illness
Demetrio Vasil a 95 year old Elyria resident and former bricklayer died Thursday at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after five weeks of illness. Born in Korce Albania he immigrated to Argentina in 1928, moved to Boston in 1957 and to the Elyria area in 1966. He retired that year after more than six decades as a bricklayer and volunteered with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Elyria since 1970, including mailing labels for Senior Years until his illness. He was Volunteer of the Month in January 1992 and supported American Cancer Services. Local memorials are noted for Fayette Rue, wth services in Crossville Tennessee. Survivors are numerous and include siblings and relatives. local arrangements were by Bogner Busch in North Ridgeville.
