Oberlin delays shopping center rezoning vote
The Oberlin City Council split 4-3 to defer a zoning change for a Route 58 and Hamilton Street shopping center proposed by Service Properties 2000 of Canton. The proposal to switch from K-1A to K-1 awaits a regional land-use plan, extending 45 days to Oct. 3 as Ira Steinberg urged cautious planning amid concerns about creating multiple downtowns and unresolved costs.
