Skin diver vs shark ends in odd draw near Tomales Bay
A 53 year old skin diver fought a 12 foot great white in Tomales Bay this weekend. Don Joslin said the shark struck him as he surfaced after prying abalone. He punched the shark in the nose with a gloved fist then returned to his boat. He was treated for leg injuries and torn muscles at Marin General Hospital and released. The diver, who teaches skin diving, noted he fears students may be discouraged.
