Treasury outlines tax-reduction impact of debt maturities
Washington officials said maturities totaling 1.886 billion dollars by June 5 1927 and a 2.463 billion dollar liberty loan due in 1928 will block any federal tax cut at December congress session. The treasury plans 1.85 billion dollars of 3 1 2 percent certificates on Sept 15 with about 40 million retiring, reducing debt and lowering interest.
