Strike solidarity in Sheffield
Sheffield-Sheffield Lake teachers voted unanimously to continue the strike, with 110 of 136 members turning down the district’s last offer of a 4 percent raise at the start of the year, 3 percent each January, and 4 percent in early 1994.

Federal arrest in Elyria over drugs and guns case
Federal agents arrested 19 year old Charles Tillman in Elyria near Bohannon Court for possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and using a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking offense. Police earlier seized 16 guns and safes from his Wilkes Villa apartment. Tillman faces two federal charges with a combined mandatory sentence of 10 years and will appear in U S District Court in Cleveland.

Police chief fired two officers and placed a third under close supervision for omitting witness names and failing to take a 14 year old boy into protective custody after the incident with Jeffrey L. Dahmer. The boy Konerak Sinthasomphone was later found among Dahmer's victims.

George Voinovich grant clemency for Montecalvo an ambulance driver from Cleveland serving a 2 to 10 year term for involuntary manslaughter in a fatal ambulance crash.
