Sheffield Lake athletic fees approved for 1984 85 year
Sheffield-Sheffield Lake School District will charge athletic fees for all sports through the 1984-85 school year after a special board meeting. The Booster Club proposed a $20 football fee and $15 for other sports to cover about $63,000, with the district paying insurance and the booster club handling coaches and utilities. Arrangements to assist those unable to pay are being made. The club has $9,200 on hand and will fund the rest with concessions and fundraisers.

Teachers pact freezes pay at Sheffield Lake
The Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education approved a three year contract for 127 certified staff with no raises or cutbacks for 1984 85 and a salary freeze at 13325 for the second year in a row. The agreement includes a fair share fee and fringe benefits while allowing a reopener on two items. Negotiations began in January 1984 and mediation followed with federal mediator Jack Buettner praised for impartiality and progress.

Clearview hires Buckosh as assistant high school principal
Lorain Clearview Board of Education names Rick Buckosh as assistant high school principal replacing Martin Schrager who moves to Mentor. Buckosh, 31, is a 1971 Clearview graduate with degrees from Heidelberg College and Baldwin Wallace College and has coached multiple sports. He and wife Cynthia live in Elyria with daughter Jessica Marie. The board also hires Sue Hughes as cafeteria coordinator replacing Sally Buckner. Next regular school board meeting set for Sept 17.
