Gamma globulin shows higher effectiveness against polio
A Chicago based team reports gamma globulin offers greater protection against polio than earlier field tests suggested. Reanalyzed with later lab tests, the study, aided by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, urges use after exposure among household contacts. Researchers Cornell, McAllister, Ludwig, Sather, Greene, and Wehle note inconclusive mass inoculation data but emphasize family group use during incubation.
