Elyria to break ground on third Sunrise hotel Sept 17
Local businessman Raj Chandat of Sunrise Hospitality will break ground Sept 17 for a new Hilton hotel on Travelers Lane near the former Midway Mall in Elyria. The project, costing about 7.5 million dollars, plans 150 rooms with Home2 Suites extended stays and standard rooms. The CRA abatement will run 15 years, waiving local property taxes if the hotel maintains 35 full time and 15 part time staff and $500000 in payroll by mid 2026.
