Ohio welfare time limits edge toward two year extension
In October thousands of Ohio residents who exhausted state time limits in 2000 may reapply for two more years of aid under a safety net. Officials say the October test measures progress off welfare into permanent work, as caseloads decline from 748,000 in 1992 to 194,000 in July. About 22,000 of those who used three years could reapply over the next two years.
