She hopes the care for older people lasts beyond the day.
Grandparents Day helps children learn valuable family history skills. Mrs. McQuade suggests labeling and dating photos, taping grandparents’ answers, and compiling a “My Family” notebook with questions about teachers relatives stories allowances voting hobbies and recreation.
Mrs Marian McQuade mother of 15 children and 18 andchildren. Her husband Joe has been very successful in coal mining. Though not active in starting Grandparents Day he paid expenses she incurred promoting it. She worked five years writing letters and traveling many miles to set the day aside.
